At our 21 September 2024 meeting Christine Cohen joined us via Zoom to present“ Cousin Baiting and Cousin Stalking”. Cohen shared her insights on how to reach out to living cousins and explore online trees, lineage societies, cemetery indexes, obituaries in newspapers, living people-finder websites and social media to help break down those brick walls in your research. Cohen is a genealogy researcher based in California. Her interest in genealogy began in 1977 with the airing of the TV mini-series “Roots”. Her enthusiasm was piqued when she was given a typed pedigree chart, commissioned by her maternal grandfather, of her family’s Dutch heritage from the New Netherlands in the 1650s. A native Californian and graduate of UCLA in Political Science, Cohen recently retired to pursue her genealogy interest full time. |
