Our CIAO Italian Church Tour of four catholic churches in the Cleveland area with Italian roots has now been finalized for Saturday, November 18!
Special thanks to Dave Sansone, and the assistance of Holly Neubert, Millie Kurminski, and Pamela Dorazio Dean for making the arrangements..
Our tour will begin at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 6928 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44102, and end at the Italian American Museum of Cleveland in Little Italy. East side members may want to consider carpooling to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (our first stop) so they will not have to backtrack to this church to begin their journey home at the end of the day.
Please meet in the parking lot at 9 AM. We will then carpool to the other churches. Our schedule for the day is as follows:
- Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 6928 Detroit Avenue, 44102: 9:15-10 AM
- St. Rocco Church, 3205 Fulton Road, 44109: 10:15-11 AM
- Holy Redeemer, 15712 Kipling Avenue, 44110: 11:30 AM-12:15 PM
- Lunch in Little Italy (purchase on your own): 12:15-1 PM
- Holy Rosary Church, 12021 Mayfield Road, Cleveland, 44106: 1:15-2 PM
- Following the visit to Holy Rosary, we will take a short walk to the Italian American Museum of Cleveland, 12111 Mayfield Road, for a brief meeting: 2:15-2:45 PM. The meeting will include a 15-minute presentation from Phil Micali about his Italian tour company, Phil`italy.
Note: We suggest a voluntary donation of $20 ($5 to each of the four churches as a token of our thanks for their hospitality).
Please RSVP to ClevelandCIAO@gmail.com so that we have a count for the tour and lunch.
